New Blog Stop, TARGETS Reviewed

Good Thursday all!

With one day left of the week, we hope this helps today go by that much faster for you. Today's newest stop for Steven Savile is at a blog I'm sure you all are getting accustomed to, Hagelrat's Unbound!. He talks about his office... or should I say library, and 5 random books from his shelves where he explains why they are there. Very interesting look into what floats his fancy. (By the way, be sure to highlight the text, if it looks blank - there are words there)

Next, Targets of Deception was reviewed at Inside Reel and though it wasn't a high rating, they did have this to say:

"Drawing on many progressions that have served the Bourne novels so well with a slight dash of Dirk Pitt without the academic overarching, the lead character of Jordan Sandor here takes the undeniable bent of a man stuck between two lives and yet living both."

"“Targets Of Deception” is a fun fast read using some expected twists but allowing of the simple pleasures of a covert op hoping everything turns out his way."

Have you read either of these books? We would love to hear what you think of them! Thanks for tuning in.

Reviews Keep On Rollin' for THREAT Series, More Press For SILVER

In case you are just tuning in for the first time, AJ Tata's THREAT series has been a great success. Giving the 100% of the proceeds of SUDDEN THREAT to the USO METRO DC fund (nearly $30,000) is unheard of. Garnering fans like Brad Thor, WEB Griffin & William E Butterworth IV, US News and World Reports, and Military Writer's Society of America is amazing. Now jumping on board is Harriet Klausner, #1 reviewer at Amazon.com. To view her full reviews, hop on over to Genre Go Round Reviews, but to sum them up see below:

On SUDDEN THREAT:

"This is a fast-paced alternate historical thriller that hooks the audience throughout as General (retired) Tata provides an intriguing conspiracy premise. The action never stops coming whether it is in the Middle East, the eastern seaboard or the Asian Pacific. Although readers will feel the New Japan scheme and several inside the White House power moves are over the top of Mount Apo, conspiracy fans and military buffs will enjoy this post 9/11 one-sided tale that clearly shows the American military living up to its values."

On ROGUE THREAT:

"From start to finish, General (Retired) Tata provides an action-packed twisting thriller that grips the audience throughout though the argument of deliberate action on the part of terrorists to suck the Americans into Iraq seems a conspiratorial stretch; a more logical premise is the stupidity of the superiority of the neo Ugly American. The part that feels plausible is the cautionary mantra to trust no one as mass murder on a scale that makes the Twin Towers look like a drive-by will frighten the reader because it seems so possible. Fans will relish this exhilarating military-political thriller as General Tata makes the Pogo case that the enemy is us."

Steven Savile's blog tour rolls on. Today has two stops, the first with Christy Evans, titled Telling Lies For A Living. The second is with the Alternative-Blog.com folks, titled Putting The Brit In..., who have 2 free copies to give away of SILVER - follow the rules and you're in. Lastly, check out the latest review of SILVER by Michelle Lee. Thanks to you all!

Steven Savile Day 2010

Coming fresh off of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I have taken the liberties of creating Steven Savile Day 2010 today. Not only is it his official release day here in the US, but he just has a lot of great things going for him right now. The SILVER Kindle is a mad success, the book trailer is creeping people out, and now another interview finds its way to him (SeanEllisThrillers.webs.com) and was released today! Thanks so much to Sean for another great interview (in case you forgot, he did one with Paul Byers last week). So much is touched upon between Sean and Steve, but important items about SILVER, Dan Brown, and the future are a few of the many questions. After you are done, be sure to peruse the rest of his site.

I have a feeling that this is the first in a long line of items about Steven and SILVER for January 2010. Celebrate Steven Savile Day by going out and supporting his success by ordering his book, posting reviews, telling friends, and all that word of mouth stuff people do! =)> You'll be glad you did.

A great update for you thriller folks in Greenville, South Carolina.

On January 18, Jeffrey Stephens will be in your neck of the woods starting off by being a guest on a local CBS-TV program, Your Carolina with Jack and Kimberly, at 9:30. He will then take a jaunt to the Barnes and Noble on 1125 Woodruff Rd. for a discussion with a meet & greet and signing from 1-3pm!

But it's a Monday you say? This is a great opportunity for all you parents to get out of the house who may be home for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday with the kids, bring them to get a new book of their own while indulging yourself in a story that has people buzzing. Maybe run in on your lunch break for a quick listen and get started that night. Options are endless! =)>

What's My Favorite Line? SILVER

With under a week and a half left, Steven Savile has made a whirl-wind appearance with his debut title, SILVER. What better time to further entice the audience? Without further ado, here is Steve:

My favourite line from SILVER? Well doing a quick statistics check I've got 10,129 to chose from... hmm. What to pick? Actually, for several reasons one line leaps to mind:

"Judas wept."

It's not only the shortest sentence in the book, it's one that tickles me as a writer for several reasons, not least of which are the obvious connotations that going along with subverting such a well known line, but because whenever you sit down to write a new book you never quite know how it is going to take shape. I find myself sometimes 3 or 4 chapters in and still wondering over things like pacing, structure, etc, but with SILVER, right from the end of chapter one, I knew I was going in a direction that excited me as a writer. You want a great opening gambit for sure, a killer first line, but never underestimate the value of a great last line of that opening chapter.

You want to tantalize, to promise so much good stuff to come... you want the reader excited to flip over to 'chapter two' and keep on reading, losing themselves in your word... or the truth could be it just made me giggle. I'll leave it to you to decide.

With reviews from HorrorDrive-in, Author Magazine and Robert Walker, the blurbs on the cover from Douglas Preston, Kevin J. Anderson, and Steve Alten, and being a #1 international bestseller, you know that his writing will do just that - tantalize - and with such great pre-sale discounts let the tantalizing begin today! Of course, you can find it at all the stores like Amazon, Books-A-Million, B&N, Borders, and the ever-loving Kindle (don't forget to bring the ISBN for ease, 978-1-935142-05-8). You can as always find the cover, interior sample, and blurbs at the SILVER book page.

If you don't know much about this Brit-turned-Swed, be sure to take a jaunt to his website, StevenSavile.com, where he has all of his past books posted, Steve Chats, and other news related to the myth-man-legend.

Enjoy!
